This is the perfect FULL DAY rafting trip with nearly 3 hours of white water rafting along an amazing rainforest river.
The Sarapiqui River class 3-4 section is for adventurous paddlers!
We’ll pick you up at your hotel in the San Jose Metropolitan Area and travel to small Costa Rican villages to the quaint town of San Miguel to start your best rafting experience, passing La Virgen and finishing up in El Roble de Sarapiquí.
There, your professional rafting guide will give you the 101 on rafting including safety tips and technical instructions before heading on your 3.5-hour journey down the Sarapiqui River on a FULL DAY rafting adventure!
During your descent down the Sarapiqui river, you will experience over 40 exciting rapids along 22 kilometros of lush, vibrant rainforest.
We’ll be sure to get your adrenaline pumping, as you make your way through exciting rapids like “The Pipeline,” “The Terminator,” and “Dos Locos.”
About half way down the river, you’ll stop and watch the rapids from the shore, while enjoying refreshing tropical fruit and relax with the rest of the group.
Then, after the second leg of your rafting journey, you’ll finish the day with an unforgettable homemade lunch at our restaurant the Red Eyed Frog before heading back to San Jose!
Transportation Info:
Transportation is provided from hotels and private residences in the San José Greater Metropolitan Area. Some locations have an extra fee, which is charged at checked out.
Pick ups begin approximately 1 hour before the start of your tour. We will send you an official pick up time the day before the tour. Please be ready outside 10 minutes before your scheduled pick up time, but it can take up to 10 minutes longer depending on the day’s pick up schedule and traffic.
If your hotel, house, or condo is not included, we will provide you with the closest meeting location.
Special Notes
- The minimum to operate the shared tour is 2 people, if we don’t meet the minimum we will send options 1 or 2 days before
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- We operate this tour rain or shine! In the event of severe weather, we will contact you with options.
- Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions
- Restricitions – This is based on height and weight. Generally 15 years old would be the minimum recommended age.
Difficulty/Endurance level – Moderate – You are required to wear a life jacket, however you must be able to swim. No physical injuries or health conditions.
