Tenorio River Rafting Itinerary

Hotel Pick up

We pick up Tenorio River Rafting guests directly from your hotel for a 2-hour journey to Canas. From there, you’ll load into a 4×4 and be trek an additional 30 minutes to our Tenorio River launch point.

Rafting down the Tenorio River

Experience rafting 12 kilometers, or roughly 2 – 2.5 hours depending on river level & time of year, passing through sections dominated by 22 class III-IV whitewater rapids.

During the smoother stretches, take a look around at the lush, forested scenery for wildlife perched high in the trees, including tropical birds, iguanas, and monkeys. The whitewater rafting tour concludes at Cascabel Falls, a thrilling 12-foot waterfall drop.

After the whitewater rafting tour, you’ll take a quick hike to the 4×4 vehicle, and venture from this isolated, unspoiled Costa Rican region back toward our base in Canas.

Costa Rican Lunch

After arriving back to the tour base, you’ll then be treated to a traditional casado, a Costa Rican lunch, featuring rice, beans, salad, plantains, and your choice of protein. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Take advantage of our changing facilities before heading back to your hotel in time for a glorious Pacific sunset.
