Hop onboard on our private boat. As you meet our friendly captain your adventurous guide will be providing you with all the necessary gear.
As we embark on our journey out to the middle of Lake Arenal, you’ll be blown away by all of the natural beauty of Volcano Arenal. When you reach the middle of the lake, your guide will give you plenty of safety instructions and plunk your board into the water. Paddle out on your knees and when you are ready, stand up and find your balance! Cross the calm waters in Arenal make this a perfect sport for people of all ages and all skill levels.
The mountains that surround the lake are different shades of green, as some are in the foreground while the others fade into the distance. At first, the Arenal Volcano seems like it is hidden behind mountains, but if you get to a certain part in the lake you’ve reached the sweet spot – a spot where you can see the detailed textures of its rock formation.
It’s a great activity for people who just want to be on a freshwater lake, soaking up the sun in gorgeous scenery with plenty of opportunity for conversation. About halfway through the tour, make a short stop at an amazing viewpoint and visit an incredible island while crossing Lake Arenal.
After 2.5 hours paddling, finish your paddling day at our Pedal & Paddle Adventure Store. Get your self changed into your dry clothes and get ready to fuel up with a refreshing and well-deserved snack, before heading back to your hotel. Qué Rico!

With Transportation
Transportation is provided from hotels and private residences in the La Fortuna/Arenal Area. Some locations have an extra fee, which is charged at check out.
Pick ups begin approximately 45 minutes before the start of your tour. We will send you an official pick up time the day before the tour. Please be ready outside 10 minutes before your scheduled pick up time, but it can take up to 10 minutes longer depending on the day’s pick up schedule and traffic.
If your hotel, house, or condo is not included, we will provide you with the closest meeting location.
Special Notes
- The minimum to operate the shared tour is 2 people, if we don’t meet the minimum we will send options 1 or 2 days before
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- We operate this tour rain or shine! In the event of severe weather, we will contact you with options.
- Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions
- Weight Limit – anywhere from 200 pounds to 550 pounds – this depends on the actual board we have available. Please let us know if you are over 300 pounds.
- Age limit – 8 year old to anyone physically able
