Are you ready for an unforgettable whitewater rafting adventure in Costa Rica? We’ll pick you up from your hotel or rental home and transport you just 45 minutes outside of town to our private put-in spot on the Balsa River. We provide all the facilities you need in our Balsa operation Center, including restrooms and changing rooms for your convenience.
Our professional, certified guides will prepare you for an exciting challenge as you navigate 10 kilometers of thrilling, rolling rapids. As you journey down this picturesque Rafting Class 2-3 Balsa River, you’ll have the opportunity to soak in the breathtaking natural beauty and encounter exotic birds and animals. Keep an eye out for monkeys, sloths, and toucans along the way, guided by our experts.
After your exhilarating day, savor a traditional Costa Rican lunch at our renowned Hunters & Gatherers riverside restaurant. Enjoy a bountiful buffet of natural, locally sourced, and delicious food. We’ll complete your adventure by providing a comfortable, air-conditioned van ride back to your hotel.

We pick up from hotels, condos and private residences in the following areas:
- Transportation is Included from La Fortuna town & La Palma Zone 1
- Transportation from La Fortuna Hotels Zone 2 – $20 extra per booking
- Transportation from La Fortuna Hotels Zone 3 – $30 extra per booking
Please provide the exact name of your hotel, house or condo upon booking, as well as a google maps link. If your hotel, house, or condo is not included, we will provide you with the closest meeting location or pick up fee.
Pick ups begin approximately 45 minutes before the start of your tour. We will send you an official pick up time the day before the tour. Please be ready outside 10 minutes before your scheduled pick up time, but it can take up to 10 minutes longer depending on the day’s pick up schedule and traffic
Special Notes
- The minimum to operate the shared tour is 2 people, if we don’t meet the minimum we will send options 1 or 2 days before
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- We operate this tour rain or shine! In the event of severe weather, we will contact you with options.
- Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions
- Age/Weight Limit – This is based on height and weight. Generally 8-10 years old would be the minimum recommended age.
Difficulty/Endurance level – Moderate – You are required to wear a life jacket, however you must be able to swim. No physical injuries or health conditions.
