The perfect combination of real hiking, waterfalls and horseback riding. We have a beautiful viewpoint that let you see 4 volcanoes: Volcán Arenal, Volcán Rincón de la vieja, Volcán Tenorio y Volcán Miravalles. If the weather is nice you can also see part of the Guanacaste Province and the Arenal Lake.

Discover Hidden Gems: Off the Beaten Path Adventure to El Tigre Waterfalls in Monteverde!
Drive yourself to El Tigre Waterfalls using the road named ¨Los Olivos¨. Avoid the route called ¨Las Nubes”. Parking is safe and free. In our small reception/coffee place we will give you a map and all the instructions and safety tips that you need to do this tour without the guide.
The trail is very well marked and easy to follow. You will pass through 4 big waterfalls and 9 bridges (hanging bridges and natural tree bridges). The hike is an intermeditate 5.2km. At the end of the trail there is a guide waiting for you with the horses or a 4×4 vehicle. This is the only guided part of the tour and it is about 35min. No experience needed.
Once you have made it to the adventure center, you will get to choose from multiple different options and refuel with a delicious typical lunch.

We provide transportation from select Santa Elena and Monteverde Hotels on the following schedule only
- Pick up @ 7:30am – this tour returns at 12:30pm
- Pick up @ 9:30am – this tour returns at 2:30pm
- Pick up @ 11:00am -this tour returns at 4:00pm
Please contact us with your exact pick up location so we can plan accordingly. if your pick up location is out of the route, we will notify you of the additional fee
Special Notes
- For the care and well-being of our horses, the established weight limit in order to ride them is of 110kg (250 Pounds Aprox)
- Free and safe spot for parking.
- Total distance – 8 km (5 km walking + 3 km horseback riding or 4×4 Safari car)
- Duration – Average time 3.5 hours
- Difficulty – easy-moderate – not recommended for anyone with any current physical injury or health complication.

- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- The minimum to operate the shared tour is 2 people, if we don’t meet the minimum we will send options 1 or 2 days before
- Children must be accompanied by an adult – minimum 6 years old

- All clients need to present a form of Identification upon entrance to the park without exceptions. Forms of identification accepted: Passport photo, passport copy, driver’s license, national ID. If you are unsure please contact us.
