Only 1% of the world’s forests can be defined as cloud forest, and Costa Rica holds more than its fair share. We offer you a walk along beautiful natural trails, originally constructed for scientists seeking to learn more and discover new creatures. With cloud cover that hangs at the canopy, this forest is fascinatingly different from other forests spread across Costa Rica.
A symphony of life thrives in the veil of mist and lush foliage. Among the towering trees and tangled vines, elusive creatures like the resplendent quetzal, with its iridescent plumage, flit through the canopy, while agile monkeys swing from branch to branch. Delicate hummingbirds hover around vibrant blooms, their iridescent feathers catching the dappled sunlight filtering through the dense canopy. Listen closely, and you might hear the haunting call of the nocturnal owls echoing through the mist, adding to the air of mystery that permeates this enchanting realm. With each step along the forest floor, one can’t help but feel captivated by the hidden wonders and secrets that lie within this biodiverse haven.

We pick up from hotels, condos and private residences in the following areas:
- Zona 1 – From Reserva Monteverde to Cheese Factory
- Zona 2 – From CASEM to Belmar/Cloud Forest/Valle Escondido
- Zona 3 – From Cerro Plano/Redondel to BCR
- Zona 4 – From Morphos to Downtown Santa Elena/Cementary/Perro Negro
- Zona 5 – From Llanos/Hotel Tropico to Lower Cementary/Rodriguez
- Zona 6 – From Santa Elena Plaza to Canita’s Panaderia/entrance to Selvatura
Transportation not included from: Lindora, outside of Panaderia Canitas, Intersection of San Luis
Pick ups begin approximately 40 minutes prior to the tour time depending on your zone. We will send you an official pick up time the day before the tour. Please be ready outside 10 minutes before your scheduled pick up time, but it can take up to 10 minutes longer depending on the day’s pick up schedule and traffic.
Special Notes
- The minimum to operate the shared tour is 2 people, if we don’t meet the minimum we will send options 1 or 2 days before
- Children must be accompanied by an adult – young children are recommended to be brought in a carrier
- We operate this tour rain or shine!
- Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions
- A moderate amount of walking is involved
- it is normal to see birds, sloths, insects, and other critters.
